The Government of India is implementing the e-VBAB network project with the objective to provide good quality, effective education/medical services through web portals to the students/doctors /paramedical staff in Africa for the next 5 years. The Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) is the implementing agency for this initiative while the Ministry of Information being the policy holder of ICT in Malawi is a counter-part in this program in ensuring the efficient service delivery through the online platforms
To ensure successful execution of this program, TCIL requires a qualified and experienced candidate to join as Project Coordinator for e-VBAB Network Project in Blantyre Malawi on contract basis. The local coordinator is expected to monitor, coordinate, liaise and resolve issues from implementation phase to handing over of the project.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The local coordinator will be expected to perform the following duties:
Liaise with clients, Indian diplomatic missions and posts in Malawi, MalawiancUniversities, Malawian hospitals, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Local Government agencies and other relevant stakeholders in Malawi
Liaise with local authorities for approvals and documentation required for custom clearance of material supplied in Malawi
Site survey of installation of UPS, IT/ICT equipment at selected learning centres in Malawi
Supervision of installation and conducting acceptance testing and AMC of UPS/IT equipment at the learning centres
Monitor health of IT equipment and internet links installed and report any faults to the responsible agency for rectification
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Create awareness about the project through media platforms
Act as invigilator during exams
To ensure that the project meets the deadlines
To complete the handing over process after project completion;
To submit monthly Demi Official Letter (MCDO)/Monthly report;

Educational Qualification : First degree, BSc/IT/MCA/MBA in ICT related field.
The Candidate with higher and additional (multiple) qualifications will have an added advantage.
Citizenship : Must be bonafide citizen and resident of Malawi.
Language : Should have written and spoken knowledge of English and Local language of Malawi (Chichewa).
Experience
Proven work experience of at least 2 years as a project Coordinator/ Project Implementor or similar role (after completion of their education)
Remuneration : Within the Grade F salary of Malawi Civil Service salary scale segment.
