Procurement Officer
Reporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Officer’s role will be to develop and maintain a strong and efficient procurement function in line with the rules and regulations as provided for in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets (PPDA) Act of 2017.
Responsibilities
Overseeing and supervising employees and activities in the procurement department
Expediting the requisition process of goods and services for the company
Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, supplies and disposal of assets,
Spearheading the preparation of the annual procurement plan
Analyzing and checking of the movement of stock in the company
Maintaining and updating supplier information relevant to the company
Preparation of various reports related to procurement on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers
Performing any other duties as assigned by the superiors
Qualification/Experience/Attributes
Must be between 30 and 45 years of age.
Must have Bachelors’ Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any related field
Must have three to five years’ relevant continuous professional experience in the procurement field in a busy environment
Demonstrated skills in bidding and tendering processes
strong knowledge of the public procurement and disposal of assets rules and regulations as provided for in the PPDA Act 2017.
Demonstrate high degree of leadership qualities and of sober habits
Possession of a clean Diving License
Possession of a strong sense of ethical behavior and personal integrity
