About the Role
One Acre Fund is looking for someone to join our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team in Malawi, Zomba as a MEL Coordinator. The coordinator will manage MEL efforts aimed at improving our tree program including survey execution, survey codding, data quality management, preliminary analysis and field team management. The Coordinator will manage a team of 20 to 30 Field Officers including Field Supervisors and will report directly to Malawi MEL Lead.
Responsibilities
Execute Surveys: draft survey calendars- survey timelines; create Key Performance Indicators dashboards; write survey and training guides; and review agroforestry surveys.
Code Surveys: code surveys in Commcare- adding questions, question types, question IDs and and validation conditions; create and upload case lists; dry testing surveys in Commcare; conduct survey error checks and make necessary corrections.
Manage Data quality: review and code backchecks into Commcare; sample backcheck farmers; create a backcheck Key Performance indicators tracker; create a field feedback receipts (FFR) Key Performance indicators tracker; conduct error checks; draft and code FFRs.
Analyze data: set up real-time preliminary results dashboards; clean data; conduct preliminary descriptive analysis.
Conduct desk research.
Manage field team: make work plans for the field team, facilitating survey trainings and pretests; recruitment of field team, providing oversight to field team, making sure field team has the necessary materials.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
You must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other related disciplines.
Basic Knowledge in Agroforestry working with trees
You must have at least two years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning field management and/or data processing.
You must have experience working with excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and Google Sheets.
You must have experience coding surveys in Commcare.
You must have experience running surveys
Experience working with STATA is also an added advantage.
Leadership and mentorship experience, including a clear record of leading teams and providing professional development support for others
You must be proficient in English
