Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Hospital is a Christian Mission Hospital owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe. It is affiliated to Christian Health Association of Malawi CHAM.
Located in Kapiri, Mchinji.
Its mission is to provide holistic health care services to the cormmunity in line with the Catholic core values and principles.
To achieve this mission, the Hospital is inviting applications from interested and suitably qualifed candidates to fill the vacant position of a Laboratory Technician, Grade K.
Responsible to: Chief Laboratory Technician
Responsible for: Examining specimens and supervising the dleanliness.of the Laboratory Unit.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Examining specimens
Supervising the preparation of specimen containers and reagents.
Receiving specimen from wards and out patients department.
Processing of specimens.
Reporting of specimen results.
Providing on the job training and supervising junior laboratory staff.
Supervising the cleanliness of the laboratory department and junior staff
Recording of data in relevant registers.
Any other related duties that may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma in Biomedical sciences.
Must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
