The International Christian Assembly is a local church of the Malawi Assemblies of God. The ICA consists of its Congregational Ministry, Sunrise Humanitarian Ministry and Channel for All Nations Radio and Television.
The following vacancy has arisen for immediate filling.
Title: Anchor/Producer
Grade: S4
Department: CAN Media
Location: Lilongwe.
Reporting Responsibility: Station Manager/General Manager
Supervision Exercised: Volunteers.
JOB SUMMARY:
CAN Anchors shall be responsible for presenting News and other content on CAN TV and radio. They shall form a key part of the CAN creative process of envisioning and producing programs and will be responsible to develop and manage multiple programs that meet high level content and production standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Writing and rehearsing scripts.
Undertaking relevant background research
Presenting news and other programming
Producing various programming including script writing, editing, logistical coordination etc.
Conceptualizing new programing for consideration of the station management.
Organizing meetings, interviews and schedules
Interviewing guests via the telephone or in person
Operating relevant technical equipment, such as radio ‘desks’.
PUBLICITY AND SPONSORSHIP COORDINATION
Develop Marketing tools for CAN content for radio, TV, Social Media, billboard and social Media outlets.
Identify sponsors for CAN programming.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Born again Christian. This is essential as CAN is a Faith Based broadcaster delivering faith based content.
A track record of service in a church community
Qualified with a Diploma or Degree in Journalism, English or other related field.
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Computer literate: Good practical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc
Strong Communication skills
Must be comfortable on air-Radio and TV.
Strong relational skills
Ability to deliver of outcomes with limited supervision
Time conscious for the process demands, keep deadlines on the issues of fundraising and sponsorship
Good interpersonal skills and credibility in dealing with other members of staff over financial matters, conflict resolution and other pertinent issues.
