POSITION: AGRICULTURE EXTENSION DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (GRADE K)
Duty Station: Various Extension Planning Area across Lilongwe District.
Grade: K
Salary: Within Grade K salary segment for the Civil Service
AGE: From 18 to 35 years.
QUALIFICATIONS
Application should be in possession of a Diploma in Agriculture in either Agriculture or Natural Resources Management, Food Nutrition and Livelihood Security Irrigation Technology; Horticulture or Environmental Management for sustainable Development obtained from Government recognized Institutions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Interpret Agricultural Development and Extension policies to farmers.
Formulate strategies for implementation of Agricultural of Agriculture Development and Extension Policies in conjunction with local leaders.
Prepare and implement annual work plans in conjunction with local leaders
Recruit farmers for training in conjunction with local leaders
Train development committee and farmers club groups
Plan and conduct demonstration on improved methods of Agriculture.
Make regular field visits to give appropriate technical advice
Collect and maintain records of all relevant basic data for the Selection.
Coordinate mobile van program in the section
Organize the section into blocks and operates through them
Monitor Crop and Livestock Marketing and input distribution.
Prepare and submit reports.
Conduct Agricultural Production Estimates.
