Description
MPC was established with the aim of providing all reasonable facilities for transmission of postal articles throughout the Republic of Malawi, and between Malawi and other countries, and that it should conduct its affairs according to commercial principles. As provided for in section 76 of the Communications Act of 1998, MPC has the mandate to:
(i) Provide postal services and to perform other services incidental to transmission of postal articles.
(ii) Establish and operate post offices.
(iii) Provide financial services
In 2003 MPC was granted a postal license by Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), which regulates telecommunications, postal, and broadcasting services in Malawi. Among other areas, the license covers the following key business lines:
(i) Provision of postal services.
(ii) Provision of courier services, and
(iii) Provision of financial services
