Support DHMT in in planning, development, programming and monitoring of clinical services.
Assists the DHMT to update maternal, newborn and child health standards, Malaria, YRHS, FP, EP, and Nutrition.
Identify and document best practices in clinical services
Works with the DHMT and CHAM staff to ensure that relevant technical capacity such as supply chain, M&E and SBC, etc are aligned toward strengthening service delivery capacity at identified facilities. For example, if data collection issues are identified at facility level, the ONSE Clinical Coordinator together with other counterpart’s works toward ensuring that appropriate support is provided to correct the identified problems.
2. Capacity Building
Mentors and strengthens supported District teams on clinical activities
Identify knowledge and skills gaps of district staff in the clinical thematic areas requiring mentoring
Draw up a mentorship plan to address knowledge and skill gaps identified in the different clinical thematic areas
Identify technical experts within and/or outside the facility to support implementation of the mentorship implementation plan.
Ensure the availability of resources needed for the mentorship process.
Mentor Clinical staff in the areas of her/his clinical specialty/expertise
Provide progress report on the implementation of the plan.
Coordinate delivery and mentorship of clinical programs
Support Program Coordinators to review, update and disseminate and relevant guidelines, and standards, checklists and roll them out as necessary.
Ensure integration of QI approaches in the delivery of clinical services.
Support supportive supervision of clinical services
3. Reporting and communication
Maintains regular communication with ONSE Management at district level as well as providing necessary documentation and reports.
Maintains working relationship and communication with Program Coordinators and other key implementing partners in the districts
Reports regularly to the District Coordinator regarding mentoring implementation plans
4. Partner Collaboration
Participates in District level task forces or working groups in clinical thematic areas
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Degree in Nursing, Midwifery or Clinical Medicine
Valid professional licence issued by relevant regulatory bodies
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the provision of clinical services such as MNCH nutrition, Malaria, FP or , EPI, IMCI, TB,
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
Clinical experience working in a Health Facility environment
Experience in mentorship, coaching and modelling.
Knowledge of National Treatment Guidelines, Protocols and Standards
Experience in implementation of quality improvement approaches
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, including HMIS.
Knowledge of working an NGO environment
Fluent in written and spoken English essential.
Public health experience.
Experience in use of computer
