Times Group invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above vacant position tenable at the Group’s Head Office at Ginnery Comer in Blantyre.
OVERALL POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is a senior management position and the position holder reports to the Managing Director. The Sales and Marketing Manager has the overall responsibility of providing Leadership, Guidance and Direction to the Sales and Marketing Function of the Group with the aim of achieving target budget performance in the most efficient and effective way that ensures minimum risk exposure for the Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The successful candidate will be expected to perform his/her duties in pursuit of the following deliverables:
Strategy Development and Implementation – Define and drive the Group Marketing Strategy and ensure active and full participation in the strategy implementation by developing creative and actionable tactics that suit all the business units while focusing on revenue growth, customer and market expansion.
Sales Targets Management Achieve advertising revenue targets in print, Television and Radio pursuant to approved annual budget through formulation and implementation of strategies and tactics targeting the specific individual business units. Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting
Documentation documentation in advertising (Print, TV and Radio) to aid and achieve debt collection and reduce the Company’s financial risk exposure.
Sales Growth Management – Ensure defense of existing markets and clients while growing the market and client base through market development for all the business units.
Resource Allocation— Effective planning and resource allocation to ensure smooth operations of the Sales and Marketing Department.
Human Capital Development- Lead and develop the Sales and Marketing Team through the design and implementation of deliberate programs to ensure the retention of a highly motivated and performing team.
Performance Management -Instill a high performance culture in the Sales and Marketing Team through the design and implementation of practical performance contracts and performance tracking systems to ensure that every team member performs his/her duties to the expectations of Management and that high performers are rewarded while low performers are duly assisted to meet the Group’s performance standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or any relevant discipline.
Possession of a Master of Business Administration will be an added advantage.
Those with CIM or any Marketing Professional Qualification will have an added advantage.
At least 10 years proven track record in Sales and Marketing.
