Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is an International Non-Governmental Organization working in over 30 countries around the world. It is a member of the worldwide ACT-Alliance, comprised of 140 churches and church-related organizations cooperating on humanitarian assistance, advocacy and development. Norwegian Church Aid has been working in Malawi since 2002 and in 2021, NCA joined forces with DCA and are operating as a joint country programme (JCP) in Malawi with Strategic Priorities for the period 2021–2024 being; Gender based violence (GBV), Climate Smart Economic Empowerment (CSEE) and Fighting inequality (FI). For NCA/DCA to continue developing its and partners’ programmes in Malawi, NCA/ DCA is seeking experienced persons with solid knowledge and skills to fill the following vacant positions in the Country office based in Lilongwe:
Human Resources and Administration Assistant (5 MONTHS CONTRACT)
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of HR and Administration and will be part of the
team at the NCA/DCA Malawi Representation.
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities will be to assist with the coordination of the recruitment processes and provide general office and administrative support.
Specific Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment processes including maintenance of personnel records in line with NCA/
DCA`s HR Standards checklist
Assist with the day-to-day HR and Administrative office operations
Maintaining office records and reference files on various subjects for institutional memory and
ease of retrieval
Engaging with relevant external stakeholders on assigned administrative matters
Handling all travel arrangements as well as appointments for the Country Director and visitors from Head Office
Schedule appointments and keeping track of the Country Director`s Calendar
Provide Administrative support including manning the reception when necessary
Organizing events and conferences.
Education qualification and Skills
The HR & Administration Assistant should have a minimum of University Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Administration obtained from a recognized academic institution. Those with secretarial
background will be an added advantage.
Good planning and organisational skills
Excellent both written and verbal communication skills
Time management skills
High level of confidentiality
Multi-tasking skills and attention to detail
Calendar management skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Processing, typing, editing, formatting reports and documents and filing documents.

Intern- Gender Based Violence (2 positions): 3 MONTHS CONTRACT
The successful candidates will be part of the team at the NCA /DCA Malawi Representation.
Main Responsibilities
The interns’ main responsibilities will be to assist in roll out of SASA Together programme activities under the GBV programme. Additionally, will be responsible for linking up with communities, implementing partner and GBV programme staff to aid in any programme activities implementation at community level.
Specific Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for community mobilisation
Community engagement
Assist in capacity building interventions under SASA Together programme at community level
Plan, implement and report on related SASA programme activities
Assist in technical trainings and follow up of partners within the project
Ensure linkage between NCA/DCA and stakeholders within the project
Mobilise and support partners to do advocacy on SASA Together
Education qualification and Skills
The Intern should have a minimum of university Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Social Science, Health or
Theological areas tenable from a recognized academic institution. A focus on Gender will be an added
advantage.
Excellent presentation skills including ability for public speaking, negotiation, and diplomatic skills
Ability to facilitate different capacity building initiatives.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
