World Relief’s mission is empowering local churches to serve the most vulnerable. World Relief Malawi, invites applications from interested individuals who are qualified to fill the positions of Project Coordinator as per the following details:
Position: District Coordinator
Reports To: Church Empowerment National Coordinator
Location: Ntchisi.
SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The District Coordinator position is responsible for developing and implementing effective and sustainable holistic ministries that will enable local churches serve the most vulnerable in their communities. This is through mobilizing and equipping churches to develop strong WORD and DEED to spearhead the spiritual, social and economic programs among their communities. Managing and coordinating all District operations and making sure that the church empowerment process is done according to the detailed implementation guide. The role also involves enhancing and providing for staff spiritual formation through an effective and robust discipleship program and chaplaincy.
The District Coordinator is the head of all operations in the District and has responsibility for all staff deployed in their area.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Technical Support for Integral Mission to District Staff Church Development, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
Lead, Mentor and Supervise District Staff
Coordinate, Network, Collaborate, and Report.
Manage Finances according to Contractual agreements.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support for Integral Mission
Participate in developing of Morning devotion materials and provide technical support to all District staff on Morning devotions and prayer days in liaison with Church empowerment Coordinator.
Develop Annual District Work plans for implementation of IM in liaison with the Program coordinator
Participate in periodic Quarterly reviews of the Integral Mission program work
Participate in Weekly skype call Meetings with the church empowerment National Coordinator.
Champion all new initiatives to advance Integral Mission at District Level in liaison with Church Empowerment National Coordinator.
Church Development, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
Meet all program targets/indicators in the district of operation (based on funding levels)
Provide support to District staff to develop and making sure that the church empowerment process is done according to the detailed implementation guide (DIG 2.0).
Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual church engagement matrix and reports from all Field coordinators and timely submit them to Church Empowerment Program Coordinator, CD, DoP, M & E and other relevant staff.
Organize and facilitate training programs for staff under your supervision
Develop and implement district plans together with District staff and church partners
Evaluate Integral Mission work in the district and give appropriate guidance to the field Coordinators and churches
Lead the integration activities at both district and CEZ level
Document ongoing activities, impacts and challenges in the CEZ.
Collaborate with Church partners in the recruitment of volunteers and their management.
Conduct periodic review meetings with volunteer groups
Conduct at least 1 monitoring trip to each church in a quarter.
Lead, Mentor and Supervise District Coordinators
Lead, supervise all district staff
Coaching and mentoring to ensure staff achieve their targets and realize goals in their CEZ’s
Provide technical support to Church mobilization, Economic empowerment, child development, Nutrition and Health, Disaster Risk Management programs in the district
Conduct program meetings of all district staff
Provide guidance and reinforce team work at District level
Provide timely feedback on staff performance.
Conduct periodic staff appraisals for all program staff.
Coordinate, Network, Collaborate, Report and Manage public relations.
Prepare for and organize vision/mission team visit for partners
Facilitate introductory and debrief meetings when mission and vision teams come to the district
Represent World Relief Malawi in relevant district forums and meetings at district level (DEC, DACC, Agriculture, CISANET, MIAA, Pastor’s Fraternal, Technical Working Groups, Youth Forums, Women/Children Forums, DHMT, NGO Forums etc)
Participate in district level activities (Malaria Week, Day of African Child, World AIDS Day, National HTC Week, Children’s Day, World Food Day, Open Days, Field Days, Candle Light Memorial etc.)
Networking with other NGOs, local government officials and other relevant stakeholders in the district
Ensure that relevant information is readily available for church partners and mission- oriented donor organizations.
Manage Finances according to Contractual agreements
Responsible for keeping inventory of all World Relief Malawi assets (vehicles, office equipment and furniture) at district level, ensuring their safe use, and reporting any fault found as well as remedial measures being taken.
Contribute to project proposals for submission to potential donors
Participate in the development of strategic plans for the Church Engagement.
Other Responsibilities
Taking on additional duties, responsibilities or assignments that may be outside your core responsibilities as assigned by your immediate supervisor from time to time.

Ability to lead team, delegate and motivate staff to reach targets.
Encourage the spiritual health of the district staff.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Development Studies, Social Science and any relevant qualifications.
Possession of a Motorcycle riding license is an added advantage.
